Downside Airways MT, the Malta subsidiary of Downside Community, finished its inaugural flight carrying objects of history, making the carrier one for the books.
The airlines flew a few Flemish tapestries of over 300 years old between Liege (LGG) and Malta on its first carrier Nov. 15 following the award of its Air Operator Certificates (AOC) by Transport Malta on Nov. 1.
Downside Community has a undeniable affinity for the objects, which were inspired by scenes in Israel, woven in Belgium and supplied as items to Malta, the three locations in which Downside Community operates. The tapestries will seemingly be on hand for public viewing at St. John’s Co-Cathedral in Valleta, Malta.
