SUMMARY:Holiday Luncheon & Toy Drive 2025
DESCRIPTION:Are You A Member?  Click here for discounted tickets.\nThe JFK Air Cargo Association will hold its Annual Holiday Luncheon and Toy Drive on Thursday\, December 11\, 2025\, at Russo’s on the Bay in nearby Howard Beach\, Queens. The event will run from 11:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. As 2025 comes to a close\, it’s an excellent time for the industry to come together and show support\, share stories and memories\, and enjoy each other’s company. The JFK Air Cargo Association looks forward to seeing both old and new friends. There will also be raffles and prizes\, so please make an effort to attend this great event. \nThe Annual Holiday Luncheon also serves as the JFK Air Cargo Association’s Annual Toy Drive in conjunction with US Customs and Border Protection. These toys will be distributed to less fortunate children\, giving them hope for the holiday season. We kindly ask attendees to bring at least one unwrapped toy to donate to a worthwhile cause. Due to limited seating and anticipated high attendance\, we kindly request that you register promptly by December 9th so we can obtain an accurate headcount and ensure that all attendees are properly accommodated. \n\n$80.00 for members\, $95.00 for non-members\, and $110.00 at the door\, and remember to bring an unwrapped toy to donate to local families in need in conjunction with US Customs and Border Protection.  Thank You!

Preparations are underway for another record-breaking EXPO\, with nearly 400 attendees expected. This year’s event will be held on Thursday\, March 21\, 2024\, at the Russo’s on the Bay in nearby Howard Beach\, Queens\, New York. \nThe air cargo industry continues to evolve in extraordinary and\, in many times\, unpredictable ways. E-commerce growth\, specialized markets\, regulatory impacts\, and erratic peak season trends are all key topics to focus on and manage in 2024. The hope is that the industry vibrantly moves forward\, grows\, and exhibits signs of some stability. The role and skills of people working in the industry are paramount to its success. The JFK Air Cargo Association continues to take a leadership role in identifying and addressing pertinent industry issues and providing a forum for developing viable solutions that can lead us to the bright side. \nThe agenda and speakers have been finalized for this year’s JFK Air Cargo EXPO 2024 event being held on Thursday\, March 21\, 2024 at the Russo’s on the Bay in nearby Howard Beach\, Queens\, New York. \nThe theme of this year’s EXPO is “JFK EXPO 2024: Air Cargo Industry Convergence and Resurgence” and is sure to attract many leading industry professionals from both near and far. This year’s event will be held on Thursday\, March 30\, 2023 at the Russo’s on the Bay in nearby Howard Beach\, Queens\, New York. \nRecent global dynamics have forced the industry to rethink its most basic fundamentals\, with survival and success greatly tied to those being most responsive to change. The causal effects of the Covid-19 pandemic\, international conflicts\, and parcelization seem endless. Yet these dynamics continue to bring about new challenges\, experiences\, and lessons. While the physical landscape of air cargo has not changed significantly regarding cargo coming off of planes\, handled through warehouses\, being picked up by trucks\, delivered to customers\, and vice versa\, the technological landscape has. However\, companies that partner to make up the air cargo logistics chain\, including airlines\, forwarders & brokers\, ground handlers\, truckers\, and airports continue to face the negative impacts of inefficient operations compounded by outdated facilities. The industry is at a competitive crossroads\, vitally needing to increase cargo’s velocity through inefficient warehouses while gaps in communications continue to exist between industry partners. \nJohn F. Kennedy International Airport and its air cargo community may not be alone with these challenges but is resolved to take a leadership role and find real solutions that will result in optimism and confidence. \nThe theme of this year’s event is aptly named: “JFK EXPO 2023: “Airside\, Landside\, and Bright Side\,” and you can be assured that it will be informative\, highly productive\, and outstanding. \nJFK EXPO 2023 will feature Luncheon Keynote Speaker Tom Schmitt\, President\, Chairman\, and CEO of Forward. \nThe EXPO Panel Session entitled: \n“Partnership & Bridging Communication Gaps” \nThe panel will address various topics\, such as identifying the gaps in communications between the various partners in the air cargo logistics chain\, how to increase velocity and efficiencies from the time freight arrives at an airport cargo warehouse to the time it is picked up\, and vice versa\,  current industry dynamics that affect this issue including the impact of parcelization\, technological advances\, roadblocks to success\, and potential solutions to improve service. \nModerator \n Brandon Fried/The Airforwarders Association/Executive Director \nBrandon Fried\, executive director of the Airforwarders Association is one of the country’s leading experts on air freight and cargo security. With more than 40 years of experience\, Brandon represents the industry and the association by serving on several Federal Advisory Committees including: The TSA Aviation Security Advisory Committee\, and The U.S. Department of Commerce Committee on Supply Chain Competitiveness. He also served three terms on the CBP Commercial Operations Advisory Committee. \nWhile still a forwarder\, Brandon joined the Airforwarders Association and was soon elected Chairperson in 2001. He served two consecutive terms as Chair and remained an active member of the Board of Directors. In 2005\, he sold his forwarding company and was appointed Executive Director of the Association. \nHe also represents forwarder interests as Chair of the Advisory Board of Cargo Network Services\, an IATA company. \nIn Washington\, Brandon is the public face of the Airforwarders Association testifying in Congress\, working with the Department of Homeland Security\, and frequently appearing in national media including CNN\, The Wall Street Journal\, CBS Marketwatch and the New York Times. \nA graduate of Syracuse University\, Brandon holds a master’s degree in business administration and lives in Chevy Chase\, Md. with his wife Kim and has two children\, Evan and Jordan. \nPanelists \nTom Schmitt Chairman/President and CEO of Forward Air \nTom Schmitt leads Forward Air Corporation\, serving as President\, CEO and Director since 2018 and Chairman since 2019.
