SUMMARY:Annual JFK Expo (Members)
DESCRIPTION:JFK Air Cargo EXPO 2024\n  \nSave the Date – Thursday\, March 21\, 2024\nRegistration opens at 8:00 AM \nPanel starts at 9:00 AM \nLunch begins at 12:00 PM – Keynote immediately following lunch service.  \nThe JFK Air Cargo Association is pleased to announce JFK Air Cargo EXPO 2024. Preparations are underway for another record-breaking EXPO\, with nearly 400 attendees expected. This year’s event will be held on Thursday\, March 21\, 2024\, at the Russo’s on the Bay in nearby Howard Beach\, Queens\, New York. \nThe air cargo industry continues to evolve in extraordinary and\, in many times\, unpredictable ways. E-commerce growth\, specialized markets\, regulatory impacts\, and erratic peak season trends are all key topics to focus on and manage in 2024. However\, lowering costs while increasing speed and efficiencies and maximizing capacity on airplanes\, trucks\, or warehouses remain major challenges. The common denominator for navigating through all of this continues to point to technology and the power of the air cargo industry’s workforce. Airlines\, forwarders and brokers\, ground handlers\, truckers\, airports\, and associated air cargo industry business segments increasingly rely on the convergence of technology to enhance their businesses. The hope is that the industry vibrantly moves forward\, grows\, and exhibits signs of some stability. The role and skills of people working in the industry are paramount to its success. The JFK Air Cargo Association continues to take a leadership role in identifying and addressing pertinent industry issues and providing a forum for developing viable solutions that can lead us to the bright side. \nThe agenda and speakers have been finalized for this year’s JFK Air Cargo EXPO 2024 event being held on Thursday\, March 21\, 2024 at the Russo’s on the Bay in nearby Howard Beach\, Queens\, New York. \nThe theme of this year’s EXPO is “JFK EXPO 2024: Air Cargo Industry Convergence and Resurgence” and is sure to attract many leading industry professionals from both near and far. Last year’s EXPO attracted over 300 attendees and EXPO 2024 is on course to attract even greater numbers. We are very excited to have New York Assemblyman Mr. Clive Vanel as EXPO Luncheon Keynote Speaker. Assemblyman Vanel serves as the Chair of the Subcommittee on Internet and New Technology and Chairs the Committee on Oversight\, Analysis\, and Investigation. \nHe has sponsored numerous landmark bills and understands the political\, social\, economic\, and cultural implications of Emerging Technologies and Artificial Intelligence\, while also working with marginalized communities to close the digital divide. \nThe EXPO begins with Opening Remarks from Salvatore Ingrassia\, Port Director JFK Airport\, U.S. Customs and Border Protection\, followed by the EXPO Panel Session entitled: \n“Linking the Power of People & Technology”. \nBrandon Fried\, Executive Director of the Airforwarders Association will moderate a panel of industry experts which includes Brennan O’Dowd\, CEO of 7L Freight\, a freightos company; Andrew Renna\, JFK Assistant Port Director\, Cargo Operations; Alex Sakach\, Vice President\, Operational Excellence North America for WFS; Michael White President Trade Network consultants and Senior Advisor to the CEO of PayCargo; and Michelle Williams\, Managing Director Strategy and Business Services for Southwest Airlines. \nBeing an EXPO exhibitor provides direct face-to-face interaction and networking with airlines\, freight forwarders\, and other key decision-makers in the air cargo industry in a dedicated and focused environment. \nPlease note that EXPO Sponsorship starts at $100 and up. \nMarch 21\, 2024\, is approaching\, so please register soon\, as last-minute registrations may not be accommodated. \nFor more EXPO 2024 information\, please visit our website at www.jfkaircargo.aero.

This year’s event will be held on Thursday\, March 30\, 2023 at the Russo’s on the Bay in nearby Howard Beach\, Queens\, New York. \nRecent global dynamics have forced the industry to rethink its most basic fundamentals\, with survival and success greatly tied to those being most responsive to change. The causal effects of the Covid-19 pandemic\, international conflicts\, and parcelization seem endless. Yet these dynamics continue to bring about new challenges\, experiences\, and lessons. While the physical landscape of air cargo has not changed significantly regarding cargo coming off of planes\, handled through warehouses\, being picked up by trucks\, delivered to customers\, and vice versa\, the technological landscape has. However\, companies that partner to make up the air cargo logistics chain\, including airlines\, forwarders & brokers\, ground handlers\, truckers\, and airports continue to face the negative impacts of inefficient operations compounded by outdated facilities. The industry is at a competitive crossroads\, vitally needing to increase cargo’s velocity through inefficient warehouses while gaps in communications continue to exist between industry partners. \nJohn F. Kennedy International Airport and its air cargo community may not be alone with these challenges but is resolved to take a leadership role and find real solutions that will result in optimism and confidence. \nThe theme of this year’s event is aptly named: “JFK EXPO 2023: “Airside\, Landside\, and Bright Side\,” and you can be assured that it will be informative\, highly productive\, and outstanding. \nJFK EXPO 2023 will feature Luncheon Keynote Speaker Tom Schmitt\, President\, Chairman\, and CEO of Forward. \nThe EXPO Panel Session entitled: \nPanel Session Title & Overview \n“Partnership & Bridging Communication Gaps” \nThe panel will address various topics\, such as identifying the gaps in communications between the various partners in the air cargo logistics chain\, how to increase velocity and efficiencies from the time freight arrives at an airport cargo warehouse to the time it is picked up\, and vice versa\,  current industry dynamics that affect this issue including the impact of parcelization\, technological advances\, roadblocks to success\, and potential solutions to improve service. \nModerator \nBrandon Fried/The Airforwarders Association/Executive Director \nPanelists \nDonna Mullins/Kale Info Solutions Inc/Vice President \nVito D’Anna/Lufthansa Cargo/Gateway Manager Aircraft and Warehouse Handling \nTom Marzano/Alba Wheels Up/EVP of Operations \nWarren Jones/Alliance Ground International LLC/Vice President Business Development \nRene Espinet/Forward Air/Vice President of Global Partnerships \nRobert Caton/Realterm/Vice President Airport Infrastructure \nAlthough the full EXPO Agenda will be announced shortly\, reservations are already being taken for the EXPO Exhibition Hall portion\, which features scores of exhibitors from all segments of the industry displaying their products and services.
